Fillings
What Are Dental Fillings?
Fillings are dental restorations used to repair damaged or decayed teeth. Different types of filling materials are available, including composite resin, porcelain/ceramic, and gold. The degree of the tooth's damage and the patient's preferences will determine the type of filling material employed.
Fillings are placed in the damaged area of a tooth to recover and restore its shape, size, and function. They also prevent further decay or damage from occurring by sealing off the affected area. Cavities, chipped or fractured teeth, and worn-down teeth can all be fixed with fillings.
At Healthy Smiles, we offer a variety of filling materials to meet the individual needs of our patients.
How it works?
A filling is a reasonably simple procedure that may typically be performed in just one visit to our dental office. The dentist will first inspect the tooth to establish the severity of the damage. They will next numb the region around the tooth with a local anesthetic to make the patient more comfortable.
The dentist will then remove the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth using a dental drill. Once the damaged area has been removed, the dentist will shape the remaining tooth to prepare it for the filling material. Soon after, the filling material is put into the cavity and molded to match the tooth's curves.
Ultimately, the dentist will harden the filling material using a special light to ensure it adheres firmly to the tooth. The patient can then resume their normal activities with their newly restored tooth.
Benefits Of Fillings

Easy Maintenance: Fillings are easy to maintain with regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups, ensuring they last for years to come.
